Make sure you uploaded the files in ASCII and set the correct permissions. Also, check to make sure the path to perl is correct in the ultimatebb.cgi and cp.cgi files.

It would also help to know what version of UBB6 you're installing and a link to your cp.cgi.

If you are using WS_FTP, make sure that the only box checked at the bottom of the viewer to upload is set to "ASCII". You can chmod files by right-clicking over it and then choosing "Chmod (Unix)" in the menu. Then fill in the boxes for the appropriate permissions.

ASCII is "Text" mode which is what all Perl scripts should be uploaded in.

What are you confused about? Do you even know how to FTP into your site?

What FTP program are you using?

There are two primary modes to transfer a file.

ASCII is used for text-type files, while Binary are used for images etc.

You can send text-files with Binary also, and its manly ok, but cgi-files dont like that.

The difference is about whats done to the file in order to transfer it. If you transer a file with Binary mode, the transer gets a "tag" thats sticks to the end of the file. CGI realy dont like this, and because of it the CGI-files transfered with Binary mode, doesent work at all.

If you send a file with your browser, you transer with Binary. So dont upload with your brower. Download a FTP-client. Go to http://www.tucows.com and download one. Why not WS-FTP, wich is good: http://tucows.arctic.net/adnload/425_29571.html

woahaha.. he, well i dont think i made it any more clear,. but i tried <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
