Ok, I made the UBB and all that, but I must have missed where you register the admin for the control pannel! So now I'm at the control pannel and it just says:

"Login Request"

But there is no link for me to log in, nor register. Help!

Yes! And I screwed up and missed the sign up. Where can I go if anywhere to register as the admin so I can get the board up and running?

And I am assuming you can't get in because the primary things have not been set up in the CP?

This is a new board right? If so just upload the files in the variables folder, and then access your cp.cgi thru the browser. It will ask the same pathing questions etc, once it's done, pay close attention and look for the text link to create an admin account.

i reuploaded the variables and cgi, went to my CP, but it just brought me to the place i was stuck again. it didnt ask me the pathing questions.

what do i put in the variables folder (thats cgi-bin right?)

and what does it mean to set permissions to 777 and 755?

When you downloaded your copy of the ubb, in the zipfile there should be a directory called "variables" there should be 19 files in there beginning with "vars_" these need to be uploaded into the same directory your ubbcgi files are in.

You must code the files so your server recognizes them. Follow the install directions to determine how to code each file. Install instructions

WTF!!! I redid it all and i submitted my paths, then i click the "click here" and it brings me HERE!!!!! THERE is nothing to register or anything!!!

The most worrisome thing is there doesn't appear to be a ubb/Templates/cp_query_admin.pl file.

Did you upload your Templates directory and all of its files?? They need to be uploaded in ASCII (permissions not important).

WTF, i only had one template in!

OOOH! they probably got erased when i renamed and moved my files to be more organized!
