Hi


I was looking for month for a good forum and I heard about your Ultimate bulletin board

I download the trial version before buying it , to see how it work basicly .

But when i try to use on my Unix server it it seems that the .zip file i got from your site missed some files.

I did all the installation manuel said and when i run the ubb6_test.cgi

2.check for the 'required' files in both the CGI and this directory

I get 6 error message saying that i dont have 6 files

cp_license.cgi is missing in this directory or has not been uploaded in ASCII

I try to look in the zip files but they were missing

all the other test from the ubb6_test.cgi pass

There may have been packet loss due to heavy Internet Traffic .

i tried the link you gave me

the .zip work

but the 6 files are missing

where can i get them ?

i d'like to make the trial work before i buy the
board

so can anyone help me

These files aren't in the zip because the trial is extremely limited and is really only for testing purposes. These files are only in the full version.

However, the UBB6 Test does look for them because the test script is also used for the full version. Just ignore the error and proceed with the installation.

so how do i make the board work

i tried to start the cp.cgi
and it doesnt work

when i look in my unix server
i have error message saying he his looking for some files i talk earlier

the ubb6_test,cgi work perfectly

so do you any idea left

the big problem

the url his a private one

its a intern sites for the gouverment in canada

not a public one, its purpose his for employee to communicate between them

so you cant acces it from the outside

for the installation mather i did all whats in the installation guide

the best thing i can do his to give you the exact error message

the message says something about missing .pm files

refering to this command in cp.cgi

use strict;

got line "can't locate strict.pm in @inc at /disk2/pgm-bin/courmuni/cp.cgi line 11

he his looking for strict.pm files

Make sure you uploaded the Modules directory and its contents. Also make sure your FTP client was in ASCII-only mode during the transfer. If it was in auto-detect mode then it uploaded the .pm files as binaries.

This morning, I deleted all the files in my directory on my unix server relating the board

i did all the installation another time

all my files were transfer in ascii mode

except the non-cgi folder

the only thing i transfer in ascii mode in the non-cgi folder his the templates folder

and i keep getting the same message


On the root of my folder that i use for the board
i have members folder non-cgi folder and the content on the cgi-bin folder that came in the ubb6trial.zip

all my right are ste to 777 to be sure

the ubb6_test.cgi still work but give me the same 6 files requires messages

for info the ftp client im using his ws_ftp pro 6.60

His there anyway i can get the zip trial version

in .tar or .gzip

The trial version is published in .zip format only. You can unzip it on a Unix box using the -a option.

unzip -a filename.zip

This will correctly handle the text files in ascii mode.

I'm going to move this over to the installation forum.

There's either something wrong with the trial version itself (or the test scripts included) or your particular setup. I'm not personally sure which..

New URL will be posted in the HDI copy of this thread (the original) after the move.

i foward the trial version to 2 unix admin i work with to be sure i did the intsallation ok

they have the same problem and error message

maybe the trial version have some problem


i saw what the board can do on other site but before i buy the full version i need to make a demo of the product to my boss so they can see what the board can do


can you check if the ubb6trial.zip has all the files to do a good installation
