I was running 5.47 UBB everything working great. 6.01 Upgrade doesn't want to take, UBB doesn't detect that the ugprade has been installed. Can anyone help me out.

well first you don't use Ultimate.cgi anymore, so that may be one thing, you now use ultimatebb.cgi, next you don't use cp.html, you use cp.cgi..... there is a script in your help directory to help you redirect users who have the forum bookmarked... if this isn't the case, please reply back with more info on what exactly you did.

Cool I'll check over that...maybe you can help me with something else. I am trying to setup emumail webmail system, which is also cgi. Only it isn't wanting to work correctly like the ubb did. the ubb was not problem to setup initially. If you know the emumail software I would love some of your input on setting it up. Their tech support blows, of course. I thought I had everything setup correctly but I am still recieving errors.

Thanks

Error including required files: Can't locate vars_config.cgi in @INC (@INC contains: D:Inetpubwwwrootubbcgi-bin C:/Perl/lib C:/Perl/site/lib .) at D:Inetpubwwwrootubbcgi-binUltimatebb.cgi line 49. Make sure these files exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly. Can't locate vars_config.cgi in @INC (@INC contains: D:Inetpubwwwrootubbcgi-bin C:/Perl/lib C:/Perl/site/lib .) at D:Inetpubwwwrootubbcgi-binUltimatebb.cgi line 49.

This is the message I get when I try to go directly to the ultimatebb.cgi or the cp.cgi

Did you transfer all of the files in the variables folder to the cgi folder. They are packed separately in the zip, but belong in the same directory with cp.cgi. Transfer in ascii mode.

Well actually my computer is the server that it runs on. So there is no FTP'ing going on. I have all of the files in their right places as far as I can tell. There is a folder called templates that is off of the ubb folder though. Does it need to be there?

Can the vars_config.cgi file be found in the ubb cgi-bin directory? vars_config, if i recall correctly, needs to be stored in the cgi-bin regardless of where the Variables are stored because the UBB requires that file to know where the other variables are stored.

Look carefully, the file should be there.

Find your UBB zip file. Extract it's contents, keeping folders intact, to a fresh directory.

See that "vars" folder? All the files in there need to be moved to the cgi-bin folder. vars_config.cgi is included.

Go to the Members Area and d/l 6.04d. You may have received a corrupted ZIP file.

Ok I finally got 6.04 running, I found the variables folder...now I can get into the cpi.cgi and everything else...I have checked my paths but I can see none of my graphics...can someone please tell me or help me as to what the permissions should be set to in IIS5 (Win2k Advanced Server) and for the IUSR account on the actual directories themselves? I want to get this working. Please please help.

Pick up the UBB6 Owners Manual at the link below. There is a section on permissions and how to set them for Win2000 and your server.
