I have recently transferred a UBB forum to a new domain name by compressing the existing site in a TAR file, then sending the entire site to the new server, with all the CHMODs intact.

The config variable file has been edited to fit the new name and paths, and everything works fine... except, when people post new messages, not replies, it results in a blank page being displayed. It appears that the server generates the "blank" page rather than UBB.

The UBB version is 6.04 and the server runs on Linux Redhat 7.3/Apache. Forum URL - http://planet.kknd2.com/forum > Multiplayer > [Top 2 posts]

Well, I don't feel like registering for an account there just to see what the problem is, but I suggest you verify that the permission on ubb_new_topic.cgi is set correctly to 755. As everything else works ok you say. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

CHMOD is correct... I just get these blank pages everywhere....

Code
< !DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
As I said before, everything has the correct permissions as all this was transferred over without a problem... something is still wrong.

Any ideas?

I've just checked and it appears that the files are actually being written into the forum directory as it should. How come when you click on the recent posts (after the move) they appear as blank HTML pages?

Only new posts are effected, not replies.

The problem you describe is generally a permissions error - I would advise upgrading to 6.2 and trying again for a more detailed error...
