Today, many (perhaps all) of the users of my UBB boards received a spam that had a "From:" name that indicated it was related to one of my topic message boards. I have e-mail address display turned off, so they couldn't have gotten the address directly from the board.

I use UBB version 6.0. Did this version have a security bug which enabled someone to access my Members' directory? My users and I are happy with 6.0, so I would only want to upgrade if I have to.

Yes, there has been several security exploits found and patched and many great new features added since 6.0.

You really should consider upgrading. In fact, your users are certain to love it.
