ok, today I went to my message board and the following messages popped up:

"Sorry, UBB has encountered an unexpected, fatal error. This error is extremely abnormal. Please contact the board administration. The error text is:

Could not perform buffered print to 'NonCGIPath/cache-(cache_pw)/pntf/9999.cgi'.

The server has told me that the disk is out of space - I was prevented from writing to the file.

Please ask the administrator to contact the web hosting provider.

The exact error returned by the operating system is:
No space left on device"

I went to my host's technical support and they told me that there is plenty of space left on my drive - over 2.5 GB So they told me that this is a software error.. what do I do here??

Those messages don't lie. The UBB returns exactly what it gets from the server. If it says you were out of space, you were

The 'no space on device' indicates that the SERVER, not your account, had maxed its limit.

If its working now, then your host probably fixed it.

a.j. we too were getting those messages, but we narrowed it down to the time when the server stats software was running. Now I know between 5-5:20 am I will always get that error, and I do If you keep getting it, ask your server admin/engineer to see what processes are running at the time of the error.

The UBB returns whatever error message the server told it.

The server says it is out of disk space.

The server does not lie.

Please contact your hosting provider.
