How do I get the board to stop e-mailing me New User Registration messages whenever someone registers?

And why, oh why, do such messages instruct me that "To stop receiving these notifications and have your account deleted please send an e-mail to snopes@snopes.com with the subject, 'REMOVE'"? Sending mail to myself isn't going to accomplish much, and I certainly don't want to delete my own account.

If you have registration approval turned on it will notify the admins whenever someone registers so they can be approved or denied. Currently not an option to turn that off without a change to the code.

The second part is just the default signature on all emails that get sent out from the forum. You can change that by editing the generic.php language file. EMAIL_SIG is the key that you can alter.

Not so keen on that sig - it sounds very harsh 'if you don't like these emails, we can always delete your account from our site!'

Would be much better to include a link to unsubscribe the user from the notices - obviously it would be a different link for each type of notice.

Most of these options, like watched threads, can be turned off and on by the user, so we really want to have a system whereby they know how to do it themselves rather than burdening the admin with it all smile

Actually I was thinking of just changing the default email signature to something more generic, or just blank.
