In the process of trying to learn how Style Sheets work in UBBT7, I copied the default style to my new test style. But when I used the test style (unmodified in any way) it didn't at all resemble the original.

What am I missing?

TIA!

Is there any docuemtation for UBBT7 style sheets? Or do just have to noodle it out on your own?

It's pretty much all CSS. So, you need to know a bit about CSS. If you have a basic understand of CSS using the style editor is fairly easy. Even if you don't have much CSS knowledge, if you just make a copy of the default style, from within the style editor, and play around with it, it's pretty easy to get the hang of. With the copy you can change some of the various properties and get an idea of what they do.

You can also try importing some from our Style Download forum to see examples on how various settings look.

agree - just have a play around - as long as you have made a copy, so any mistakes you make are easily reversable.

Play around have fun and that way you will soon learn all about CSS. There are also plenty on online resources for more info if you need it smile

Ok... but that gets me back to my original question:

Your Stylesheet is indeed wrong - your source code says http://www.misyssbm.com/ubbthreads/styles/ubbthreads_1162773138.css, which does not exist.

Ensure that your style directory is chmodded 777 and the files within it are chmodded 666 (additionally the directory inside of the styles directory should also be 777).

Thanks! Actually, I had looked at the permissions and found the CSS file set to 600. I changed it to 644 and presto! I'll change it again to 666 then start playing with it some more.

I am familiar with CSS so that part didn't faze me. The mystery, for me, was identifying all the UBBT7 elements that could be controlled. Here some documentation would be really nice. Otherwise its LBWA (Learning By Wandering Around).

well the side column in the style editor is meant to show you a live display of what each element is... It changes when you go from section to section...
