OK, I see the private topic option in the control panel, and I can guess what a private topic is...but I can't for the life of me figure out how to set one up and invite anyone to join. Can anyone help me? Sorry to keep asking basic questions about board functions, but I have not been able to locate a users guide that has the info. If anyone can direct me to one I will stop bugging you all with the basics!  Thanks again, winter

Click a username, click "Send a PM", then click add, either add more names by typing in manually and clicking add or open up your UBB Buddies list.
Also to note, if you forget to add other users to your Private Topic, you can always use it for private note taking.

Nope, wasn't a bug. Just like in the old .threads versions you could send a pm to yourself. I use it fairly often for a variety of things.
