If you edit your Watched Forums and press "Update Watched Forums" you will be returned to the same page with no sign of success. To return, you'll have to do another two clicks on "My Stuff"->"My Watch Lists".
I would suggest to return to the Watched Forums screen after an edit, because this is where the edit was initiated.
This applied to Watched Topics and Watched Users as well.
