Here on this board 7.1b3, in the user profile there is a link to send the user a PM but it does not exist in my 7.02
Is this a hack or will it be fixed in 7.1 or have I not configured something in CP ?

.

It's in my 7.00 -- try someone else, that person may not be accepting PMs?

You trying to say I have to slap some MODS grin

Doh! Now that I think about it, you're probably right.

Thanks for the wake up call.

So then I would also guess the reason I can send a PM from the drop down for their name is because I'm an Admin. Makes sense.

However I sort of see it as a bug or annoyance too. If as an Admin I can send a PM via drop down, then I think I should be able to see a link to send a PM in their profile as well (maybe some other indicator as well to show that they don't accept PM from normal users)

Thanks again.

You could sneak into their Preferences page to see if they're accepting PMs or not to confirm.

One good thing about still running 7.00 - I can confirm if something was in, or working in, that version. On the other hand, tho, I keep wanted to report bugs that have probably been fixed for weeks so I don't bother. laugh

Not a bad idea to have an "admin only" indicator for such things, altho it'd probably get a bit annoying on the admin side, seeing it all the time. wink But I agree it should be consistent.
