I got this error creating the creating your tables (createtable.php) script:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_real_escape_string() in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/whitneyportalstore.com/httpdocs/forum/libs/mysql.inc.php on line 136

Could this be related: My host tech support reports to me that they are running MySQL 4.1.11, yet when I access the database via the PLESK browser screen: click on my domain name, then
click on the Databases button, then
click on my database, then click on the PHPMYADMIN button, a popup window appears showing what appears to be a list of tables (51 beginning with ubbt_) on the left, and on the right: Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.2.6, MySQL 3.23.55 running on localhost as whitney1@localhost

Is it actually running 3.23.55?

It could be that your cpanel cache needs to be cleared which you would have to open a ticket with your support and have them take care of it.

It sounds like you already have the tables in place (as it creates the ubbt_ tables when ran)

I think PHP is the problem here, not the mysql. What version of PHP are you running? UBB.Threads requires PHP 4.3 or greater

Posting a followup here...

Both the MySQL and PHP versions were too old on the server I was using. The host site has created a new environment on a more up-to-date server for me, and I am installing Threads there, while the Classic board continues to run on the old server.

Thanks for the help here. I have more (new) questions, but I'll open new threads for them.
