What is the best / least issue prone method of upgrading 7.02 and 7.1b4 to the new 7.1b5 ?
If there is a link for that already that would be great.

Same as the usual. I upgraded it from 7.02 think it took about 12 minutes. Normal ugrade process link is in members area.

Well, you can choose to delete your current install and upload fresh files, or just overright your old files (the later is recommended, unless you suspect stale files)

Just curious as I see Mark seems to have had issue on some upgrades I thought.
Don't mind for one of the boards but the other one is hosted in Europe and has a lot of users so don't want to have to mess with any known issues.

I've been upgrading within Threads7 since alpha, I've yet to have any issues that mark has had lol...

First board upgraded (only error was the Language folder) did not have enough rights to update so I temporarily changed to 777 for the upgrade then changed it back 755 for Folders and 644 for files. Now to upgrade the main bigger board in Europe. For those that have not upgraded before he is what was presented during the upgrade. 3 new CSS classes have been added, .newtotal, .popup_content and .post-buttons. Also, a new image set, moods, was added. You'll want to edit each of your stylesheets and specify the settings for each of these. .newtotal is specified under Category/Forum Properties. .popup_content is specified under Misc. Properites. .post-buttons is specified under Post Properties. The mood images are set under Name, Images & Wrapper.

Main board in Europe now upgraded to 7.1B5
It had a couple files that needed to be removed.
The following files need to be removed
scripts/showicons.inc.php
templates/default/showicons.tpl
It also timed out but an F5 refresh allowed it to continue on with no further errors.
Upgrade process was less than 5 minutes on the board.
Thanks Rick for releasing it for the weekend.

I managed to all use Beyond Compare to merge in all my hacks before upgrading - worked fine

I know all the customizations can't be in the source code but precisely why I prefer as many as I can get so that I don't have to modify each time I upgrade

Just curious as I see Mark seems to have had issue on some upgrades I thought. As i upload my files 1 at a time and follow the instructions there have been files / images missing in the upload list. My main issue was installing imagemagick as i was missing a .js file (Missing from the list). But i done 7.1.5b last night and i didnt have any problems. Only the wait.gif which was missing from the images folder, see 7.1.5b Discussion ive listed them there. I think we have found most of the upgrade issues now, as i say 5b was easy peesy for me

Its party testing If i dont report a problem / file missing or description from the Modifiy list who will ?? I guess its not having the software (Other Thread) that can auto check for changes. I will one day, upload them all It doesnt take that long either, well with the experience i have, maybe that's why mine breaks so much lol
