Okay ... I'm in the process of upgrading my board from 7.02 to 7.1

I'm going along okay (or so I think), and I've hit a little snag.

I did the Language step.

It did the config step

And now it's stuck.

I'm at

Quote
Config file Updated

Continue to the next step.

With the "next step" being step=altertable

Now what do I do?!

ETA to say: it unstuck itself! Go figure! LOL

Okay ... I thought with the upgrade, a couple glitches would be taken care of ... and these are some of the glitches I'm seeing with the upgrade ...

  1. With Internet Explorer, the avatars would reappear; I'm not seeing that with the upgrade
  2. With the active topics, when you put the pointer over the link for the topic, it brings up a preview --- dark lettering on an invisible background ... I need to know where to change this and/or if this is a bug/glitch
  3. Within the post itself, at the bottom, it's showing this:
    [Linked Image from adwoff.com]
I obviously don't need the hyperlink & buttons (would prefer just the buttons)

---

I need to investigate further, but these are the things that immediately jumped out at me.

I'll admit that I haven't gone through the topics here to see if this has been discussed. Many apologies if these things have been addressed.

Regarding the avatars: again, I thought the issue with Internet Explorer would be taken care of with the upgrade.

Right now, I can see avatars with Firefox. I cannot with IE. If I go into profile and put in a number for the max width/height, the avatars appear in IE, but they are skewed (i.e. smaller avatars stretch to the size put in); same with Firefox.

One of the reasons I was so anxiously awaiting this upgrade was for this issue to be fixed.

Are there any work-arounds?

Thanks.

I have another glitch that's been with me since I upgraded to Threads, but I thought it'd go away with the upgrade ...

It's in the control panel, when I go into forums ... the width of the page is completely skewed.

In the grand scheme of things, it's just annoying, but I hate being annoyed! wink

Here's a screenshot:

Click me Also see Gizmo's examples underneath.

You need to add some code to your style sheets as they
have changed since 7.1

As a working guide download the 7.1 version from the style
sheet forum as an example.

You may have to clear your browsers cache to see the
changes taking place.

============
They need to have sizes, i'm not upto date on the
work around.

Try adding one via the control panel
as a guide, or a test.

Do you mean you have scroll bars,
the image above isnt telling me much except its wide.

First, Mark, thank you so much for the other info. You're a lifesaver! smile

The issue I talked about above is hard to get a screen-shot of because the entire width of that particular screen is skewed. It's suppose to have 4 tabs -- and you have to use the BOTTOM scroll bar to get to each one.

All the other Control Panel areas with tabs don't have the screen skewed like that.

Hard to explain.

Quite possibly you have a corrupt file,
which one it is i dont know.

I see now as ive just checked mine, and its fine.

If the file inquestion can be identified,
then a upload of that file may correct things.

Very strange to say the least.

Sue, you know we love you; but you really need to read the release discussions haha; most of these have been covered elsewhere over and over :x...

As for the CP issue with tabs; that's really odd; when you close your browser and open it again, does it still show skewed

Don't pick on Sue. That's my favorite Sue.

Sue, I remember someone during the beta period having a problem with the control panel stretched like that. I'll see if I can dig something up on it.

Ah, you guys.

And yes, Gizzy, I know I need to pay better attention to the release notes.

My bad. tongue

----

David, ironically, if I look at the "forum" in IE, the screen is the way it should be. When I look at it with Firefox, it's skewed.

Since I do most of my playing in Firefox, I didn't even think to check it with I.E.

So ... another weird deal. Looks okay in one browser; skewed in the other.

And yes, Giz, I've opened & closed the browser window.

Yes, that's exactly the report one of the beta testers gave a while back. I just can't seem to find it or remember what the story was.
