I just tried my first attempt at importing my Classic Board (6.7.1) to Threads.
I had a Threads board up and running for a while (no problems, and even upgraded to 7.1.1)
Before the import, I dropped all of the database tables.
When I went to run the import, I get to the first screen where you enter absolute paths. After I enter those, I click the button "Check Paths & Begin Import".
Then, I get the message "Checking..."
But the page just sits there and nothing happens.
Any ideas?
No biggie if I have to go from scratch again by doing a fresh install from the start and import at that point. But wondered if I'm missing something simple
Thanks for any tips.

After you dropped all of the tables did you run the createtables script from within the install directory? if the structure doesn't exist then it can't import properly.

That was it Gizmo. Thanks. I'm running the import script now, so far, so good (fingers crossed). I'll report back how it goes. Looking forward to finally retiring my Classic board and moving forward with Threads.

My import finished in about 15 hours. Tonight, I'm finally taking the plunge and doing one more import and will open up Threads to my users. This time I'm closing my Classic board down. Not sure if it will speed up the import process. Well, it's been a great six years with my Classic board, time to let it go now. Looking forward to running Threads, as well as all the new features being worked on.

You'll miss classic for a while, then give in to little brother Threads :nods slowly;

Be prepared for a bit of a bitch fest Some people just hate change and you'll get some complaints, but things start to settle down after awhile

Thanks, I expect it. However, I've gotten pretty close to matching my Classic style, so I'm happy about that. Just a few more minor adjustments and it should minimize the bitching.

You hope, they do moan like hell, "I used to do it this way" and i want to be able to do it that way again.
If anyone rants on about the WHY and its not a million miles away you could say its due to security issues with the software being so old. That calmed my mob down.
But with the extra hacks over a DEV i've made them happy enough.
The top 30 days poster is the best Unofficial add on ever. And Gizmo's u tube stuff (Coming in v7.2 (i think))
Mitch you have a great product, take time to get used to the control pannel and the way things now work.

Gee, I got complaints just upgrading from 6.5 to 7.1! Mainly from the older people though.
