Admin x2

Does it work with more than 1 Administrator?
Or should you go it alone?

-----
I ran my forums with a second admin (My Brother) for 2 years
and it worked really well, bouncing idea's off each other.
He knew not to press any of those buttons in the control panel.
But there was needed alot of trust. Worst case you could loose
you everything over a stupid spat.

3 years on my own.
Now i look and banter with my moderators after my brother
gave up his admin to get a life. And its just as rewarding
as i have found others i can confined in and trust. Just
not with the buttons and settings.

So for me its worked either way,
but i was glad in the beginning to have someone along
side me i could trust with out doubt.
Now established, its okay being on my own, as experience of
time has taught me a hell of a lot and situations.

So if you need a second admin, make sure you can get rid
of them with out a fight. TRUST TRUST TRUST in my opinion.

Just call them your TOP Moderator "works for me" wink

I have a second admin and he's been with us for about 8 years now. He has very little input (self choice & fear of the CP) on how the board is run but it comes in very useful if I have to go away on business / holiday or don't have access to the site. I know that he can access info for members if they need help and change settings for them if required. It's also reassuring to know that the forums won't be loaded with spam on my return.

Like you say, trust is very important and I'm extremely greatful and lucky to have somebody that has stayed around for so long and I am completely at ease with.

I have a small group of users that I'd ultimatley trust with my life; they're my staff on my sites as well... And a select few are also admin's (well, like 5) wink

We work totally different at themepark.nl

To our forummembers we are all called "staff-members". Two of us (not me) are called the so-called administrators, the rest of that staff members are the moderators.

As for admin rights, a bunch of staff members have the technical status administrator in ubb, because that's basicly it, a setting that will allow you to do more forum settings.

I need it because I am the princip maintance guy of the UBB installation, another guy is our templates hero, one of our female staff members handles new user registrations, another technician who works on supporting scripts has both admin and FTP/Shell/MySql access and our 2 left over founders (on of the founders quit a while back) can do it all.

In decision making, I think in over 7 years that maybe 1 or 2 times our "on paper"-administrators veto'd something. For everything else, we decide together. And whatever we decide, we support it as a group.

Everybody with "just" moderators status has global moderator permissions, but they do have their specific forums they take care of.

The founder that quit was the guy who did the technical side of the forum, after he quit, I took over the ubb stuff. That's why I am relatively new here at ubbcentral.
