Mark, from Orlando it's not so loud, but loud enough so that you know it HAS to be loud there. We're about 70 miles away (I think). smile

Driv, you're right about Aussies going to England being a rite of passage. So many do it because they can make it a working holiday. Not so in the U.S., because it's illegal to work here without a permit. I've been to England too, but when I was a little girl.

We can get rid of the Ozzies after 2 years.

But most of them just get married so they can hang around.

I know so many Aussies - most of them either work in gyms or pubs.
(Not meaning to stereotype.)

But that's cool.

You guys have a real 'upbeat' attitude towards life.
The guys in my gym are the *best* personal trainers I've ever met.
They are genuinely into what they do.

I only barely remember it, driv. But I'd like to go again one day. I'm actually a British citizen because I was born in Scotland. My parents moved to Australian when I was four.

which brings back memories of watching a local news report in Perth, during the test match - with the England supporters singing to the tune of Yellow Submarine ' You all live in a convict colony, a convict colony' - I was amazed the local news showed it - guess they have a sense of humour laugh

Neat. I almost stumped an expert. smile

My day is fine. Got up at 4AM, had roasties for breakfast and should consider having a bath today. Also fed the dogs, ducks, checked our swine, and oiled the clippers so my wife can give me an uneventful haircut. Hat head is SO out of style now a days.

Auntie Bessies chemically enhanced crap?
Oh dear God no.....

Real Roasties....

Skin the spuds
Parboil for 5-8 mins.

Drain, shake & bruise with flour

MAJOR EDIT - My wife has just told me...
You should put a roasting tray/ pan into the oven for 15 mins first, so that the oil is hot. This helps give the spuds the 'correct' colour and consistency.

What the heck do I know?

Roast for 1hr 20-30 mins with a clove of garlic....

[Linked Image from bbcgoodfood.com]

Even these don't look anyware near as good as my missus does.

Looks like they aven't been bruised - says me, the guy who can't boil water.....
