I used to dispise the idea of Tag Clouds; but after actually utilizing them (either as a sidebar or a full page on some sites) they've kind of grown on me...

Just looks like a non hierarchical method of representing data which I realize not everyone views or envisions things in the same manner but still - where is the value?

it is also a way of classifying posts that are in a the same forum by themes, makes it a bit cleaner without having 100s of sub forums

Okay I'll take you at your word for it until I see it in place. Maybe I'm just too "Old School" to envision it as I see that stuff more like a BLOB of ugly coding.

Say you're bored and you're looking for a topic on various types of flowers on a gardening forum; well, you'd go to the tagcloud page and you'd see which topics are weighted higher and lower, so you can check what the more popular species of flowers are, and possibly weigh what you want to look at based on the most popular
