Win XP Pro SP2, Firefox 2.0.0.11
I don't seem to be able to register as a user in The Beast.
I get as far as the screen that says
"Be nice, be wise! etc." I check the box to accept the Board Rules and then click on Proceed.
The screen simply refreshes, the only difference being that my check mark has disappeared. Anyone knows what might be causing this?

I have it once in a while, just clicking ok again works then.
Haven't been able to put the finger to it.

He says he's being taken back indefinitely, no matter what he does...

Does he allow cookies? Maybe some firewall in the way of storing the session data?
It is just that user right that is having problems?
What I sometimes just do when "all else fails" is just register the user myself.

I have just been able to confirm this issue. All people who are trying to register experience it. I think it has to do with the fact that the forums were changed from an IP address to an actual domain name: forums.atril.com
Someone please check there to confirm the issue. How do I solve this?
This is quite urgent...
Thanks a lot in advance!

I really need to solve this... no one can register anymore! What setting could have possibly done that to my forums?

OK, I registered above with Firefox and I've just registered ScriptKeeper2 with IE7.
Can you please delete ScriptKeeper and ScriptKeeper2 from your database.

Just found this: https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/u...s&topic=0&Search=true#Post194645I think you registered right after I turned off the Board Rules ScriptKeeper! Can you confirm that? The users don't see any Board Rules now and therefore don't need to confirm them. Now they are taken to the registration screen right away and that *seems* to be working...

There was not a Board Rules page. The page did have an area at the top that displays "Please insert your board rules here."

Maybe updating from 7.0.2 to the latest 7.2.2 might fix it.

You might benefit from upgrading to 7.2.2 from 7.0.2 as some bugs have been squashed between those versions.

Strange thing is... this *is* 7.2.2 On your forum hover your mouse pointer over Powered by UBB.threadsâ„¢ and it shows 7.0.2 If it's showing 7.2.2 in the control panel then you've not done a complete upgrade (maybe missed some script uploads out) and that might cause some problems.

Hmm, I get a perfect 7.2.2 hover.
I confirmed the problem when he still had the board rules on.

I confirmed the problem when he still had the board rules on. It shows 7.0.2 when I hover, which is strange. So my guess is several scripts have not been uploaded. Yomar - your files should all show 7.2.2 within the first couple of lines.

It's a clean install... downloaded from this website today.
Maybe something is wrong in the current package on this site?

It was never upgraded. It is brand-new. I downloaded and installed it today...
I have previous experience with this forum, but that is on other sites, with other licenses and other versions.
This version is brand-new and cleanly installed, I assure you.

But you have posts from last month etc., so the forum is not new.
How did the database get installed - which version of threads was that database running on?

Is your sessions directory writeable?
I had a look in the code, and whether or not you accepted the board rules is stored in a session variable. So could be something wrong with the sessions.

Yomar - it would help if you put your URL into the post of you are asking about an issue. It helps

Actually the first license was no longer valid, but then again, that forum doesn't need upgrades anymore I bought the second license for this new website. I never noticed the prices were lower - then again, I'm not the one who's paying for this particular forum BTW, the Sessions directory is writeable according to the Control Panel.

Licenses never expire; only member area access... Which can be renewed. Licenses are forever ... But if you have one to spare :purrs: lol
