I just upgraded to 7.2.2 and I am experiencing an issue I hope you guys can help with. All text appears to have dissapeared from within all PM's and now you can compose a new PM, but when you click submit, nothing happens, it just sits there. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks

Is this text the text that you or others have typed or the language files are not appearing?

The contents of the PM's themselves, the text the users have typed.

Just noticed another problem, the Gallery doesn't appear to be displaying properly. We created a gallery forum and when you go into the forum, everything populates such as the header includes, the portal on the right and the footer, but the forum is not there.. very weird.. would you mind taking a look?

Another problem, users can't register, after submitting a birth date, I get the same sympton as when you open the gallery... what the heck is going on? Wrong permissions somewhere?

sounds to me like files not uploaded correctly.

I would try re-uploading all files in ascii (apart from image files) and check the permissions via the link towards the foot of the CP.

Let us know how you get on - 23:37 here, so hopefully someone else might jump in with some suggestions.

I'm also with crownvic.net...

I'll add one other item that I noticed - we don't have the "switch to full reply screen" button, which should have showed up after the upgrade. Hopefully, that will show up once Jason reloads the files.

Does sound like a problem with the files.

Also check to make sure that the files have not corrupted when expanding them.

I uploaded all the files again, verified text files file transferred in ASCII, image files in binary... also permission are all OK under cp. Reading your post above, I should download the zip again and reupload again?

I'll give it a shot.

It sounds like an issue with the scripts.

But if anyone else has suggestions, they will post.

Sorry if I have not been able to solve your issue.

You can always put a ticket in with groupee - but bear in mind they may not be able to respond until tomorrow at the earliest (PST).

Sorry - just see you question above - I can only speak from experience elsewhere - I have known issues with corruption on expanding zip files - always worth a go.

If this was a database issue, I would not expect to see missing parts of the forum, such as "switch to full reply screen" button.

uploaded the files once again with a fresh download from members area. still the same problems as listed above..

I installed a dry run a while back and I noticed when you cliked on the active topics button on the top menu that the new version gave 6 options.... this install only give 3 choices.. I'm starting to wonder if the upgrade was partial? But it doesn't make sense that the forums are operating, and the CP says 7.2.2 Can someone give some insight?

Thanks!

Agree the forums themselves seem okay - so it would seem that the database upgraded okay, especially if you did not get any errors on the upgrade or database errors since then.

Hopefully someone can assist - might be worth sticking a ticket in as well smile

Hey guys, try checking the webserver error logs, it'd be very helpful to ensure that nothing is in there that's going wonky.

I think all is well, the permission were wrong on my compile directory and all the old 7.1 templates were compiled. I set it to writeable and 7.2.2 templates have compiled.

All the issues listed above have been resolved.

Thanks

of course - sorry forgot about the compile cache directory. frown

Caught me out more than once LOL

Ought to be an automatic cleansing of these.

Anyway - glad to hear all is well.
