I'm sure, as with all releases, that something might slip through the cracks with the final release and we'll need to put out a bug fix release afterwards as we did with 7.2.1 and 7.2.2  But, I'm confident that we'll have all of the major issues ironed out when 7.3 is released. Like normal, when it is finished we'll run it here for a few days to make sure everything is good to go and then put it into the members area.

Rick, that last bit of info you provided on the link still working helps a lot. Last time I upgraded they did not and I lost a ton of search engine traffic that clicked right out as well as all the links out there from other sites and my own site as well. Looks like you cured that issue.
Will the links to the 7.2.2 version work indefinitely after the upgrade to 7.3?
Is there anyone here that can do the hack outlined above in post #210094 item #3? If so please e-mail me: rick@fishingminnesota.com

Will the links to the 7.2.2 version work indefinitely after the upgrade to 7.3? I hope so or Rick will be going undercover lol I'm pretty sure they will for a long time to come, as your not the only one who needs to preserve links.

For everyone still following along, we're just about there. At some point this week, we'll be updating this site to 7.3 final and then if no glitches are found with the final upgrade then you can expect it to be in the Members Area a few days after.
So, it's not an exact date as I'm not sure when we'll update this site just yet but it will be this week.

I could not find instructions to do update from 7.2.2 to 7.3
only to fresh install. Am i missing something?
I'm trying to install an upgrade of my forum, in a second server, as a test for upgrade.

There is an upgrade guide in the general help section (should be a sticky post).
Upgrading from 7.2.2 to 7.3 is no different from upgrading from 7.2 to 7.2.2; simply don't upload the includes/ styles/ /content_builders/custom folders (however you do want to upload the styles/common.css)

Not sure anyone who has all features of the UBB on; that's the benefit of the UBB, you can turn off a lot of what you don't want... My only "non-beta" UBB7.3 install (and even then, it's the 7.3 final released to the private testers) is Back of the Web

I'm still using 7.1 and it's funny how I still hover over the "Powered by" to check the version # despite it now spelling it out
