Hi everyone,
I have just updated my forum from 7.2.2 to the latest version and all went well but I am still having the issue that I had before with people not showing up in the island.
Would this be a conflict with my flash chat area as it is integrated with the forum members id. Just a thought.

If your talking about the who is online island I had a problem with that too. I had to go into the folder and download all the files in ASCII then delete them and re-upload them and set the permissions to 666 to get it to work. For some reason on the update the permissions all got changed and messed up tons of stuff in the cache folders.

Can you tell me the folder that needs the 666 permission to get set as I will have to get my provider to set it for me.

Thanks I have had the permissions changed as you said by the web host. I will see how things go before doing any other changes.
Thanks for all your help.

Can't you update files via your FTP package?
Usually right click and choose permissions (or similar) on directories or files.

I have been using Firefox fireftp to upload and download. No real problems with it at all.
As to my problem with who's online I am still having the same issues after the permissions were set. So should I re upload the files?

When this had happened to me I had to download all the files in ASCII then delete all those files leaving the blank folder and then re-upload all the files back to the server in ASCII and set the permissions. I refreshed the page and it worked perfectly.

indeed - I am not sure how FF uploads files - I would always recommend using a dedicated ftp package, that you can fully control.
Also expand using something like winzip or winrar to ensure nothing is corrupted during expansion.
