After upgrading to version 7.4 and loading the home page I get:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\WEB SITES\GIFTEDISSUESTHREADS\BB\libs\smarty\internals\core.write_file.php on line 27

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Help please!!

LINE 26:// write to tmp file, then rename it to avoid file locking race condition

LINE27:$_tmp_file = tempnam($_dirname, 'wrt');

Looks like a permission issue. Where do I have to adjust this?

Hmm, I'd wipe out everything in the templates/compile folder, excluding the index.html file. It could be that one of the old compiled templates wasn't writeable, and it got stuck in a loop (I need to see if that's actually happening and why it didn't die instead).

Also......the sess_ files have grown to about 30,000 or so as well.

Also check the perms on the folder itself. If you're on a windows server, make sure it has full control. It's supposed to be deleting tmp files when it's done with them.

UBB.threads doesn't do any explicit deletes on the session files since session cleanup is supposed to be handled by php itself. It sounds like for some reason files can't/aren't being deleted.

OK - deleting the index.html file as well as all of the other wrt*.tmp files and all is good again....phew....
