When attempting to do a search on a UBB Version like 7.4.1 in this message board it tells me, "There are no results for your query. Please try a broader range of search criteria."

I'm certainly not going to go through each section one by one looking for all problems with 7.4.1 to fix anything before I try to use that version.

Can we fix this?

Is there a problem with the search feature in 7.4 series? Not working on my site either.

I'm hoping to have the search alternative in as well with the next release. We'll basically have the option to use the old 6.x style searches which don't use fulltext indexing. This will allow for searching of any character length as allowed by the search settings in the control panel.

Rick, I assume that means also excluding the default host setting of 4 characters.

Yes, when using fulltext you're at the mercy of the host's setting for the minimum length word. We'll have the option to not use fulltext, just using good old fashioned LIKE match in which case the minimum length word the software can control.

I am glad you posted your response. Because the few times I have posted my issues with numeric data search. A lot of people chimed in thinking it would fix the issue of less that four characters in a search string.

Well, the problem is currently that unless I wish to search this forum manually for all known bugs and fixes for 7.4.1 before uploading it and loosing stuff or not having it work properly and crippling my community then I have to wait perhaps 6 months to do an upgrade.

Perhaps you could have came out with a 7.4.2 bug fix to fix all the missed major bugs in 7.4 and 7.4.1. I need the file manager upload images to work for my community as this is the major part of the community. The users upload their photo's and stuff for the rest of the community to see. I have seen a brief fix but what about looking for other problems that may exist that may severely hinder the operation of my community?

A 7.4.2 release is actually something that may be coming out depending on the development cycle of 7.5. We can't actually put out 7.4.2 yet as there are a couple issues that I haven't been able to figure out a solution for, at least one that works on all servers.

Normally I should have been putting these into the changelog so people can see what's been fixed / being worked on and I'll try and get that updated shortly.

Well, You still have that server in my rack to test stuff out on. I never took out the account and it is still there.
