Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Please move if it isn't.

I have a member of my site who can login and access all the areas he has permission to, however when he tries to post he gets this message

The host from which you are accessing the board is not recognized as a valid host. This is more than likely related to a firewall issue that is blocking the referer variable. Check your firewall settings and try again.


Does anyone know how I can help him to resolve this problem. He isn't particularly 'computer literate' however his presence on my forums is pivotal. Please help!!

His firewall (or virus scanner) blocks the referrer variable from his web browser from posting to your forum; it's a security feature of the UBB you can disable... Myself, I'd just tell him to update his stuff ...

Myself I had to Disable HTTP Referer Check in the control panel.
Due to most all of my members access the site from work and don't have access to firewall and internet settings.
