Is it possible to have Watched Lists and Email alerts of response posts both set ON by default for posts made on UBBThreads?
Currently, in "Fully Reply" mode, "Add this topic to my Watched Topics" is NOT set by default, and setting it does NOT enable email of responses. In "Quick Reply" you can't turn the Watched Topic on at all.
I feel that the Watched Lists option is very unlikely to be set by most people new to a forum, and they certainly will not have worked out the somewhat hidden means of enabling email alerts of responses. The danger is, despite answers to their comments, they don't return to look - what a waste!
If the emails, board instructions and FAQs reflected this Watched List/email setting policy, and indicated how to turn them off, I think this would be a good way to encourage return visits and, therefore, community building for UBBThreads sites.
