1. Allow file attachments
I think this would be a nice to have.
Some announcements used in the calendar include a registration form.
2. Add a search feature for the calendar.
Then you could search for future calendar items.
3. Add a master category list for calendar postings to search by. Editable via the control panel
Then you could also have say: Meetings, Events, Contests,Etc.
Maybe even color code them like we do now with the admin,moderators
4. Add views. Such as week,Month,Year.

We also need group access to calendar posts.. I requested this a while ago..
just like posts.. you can see or post based on groups..

I agree. I just didn't want to sound to greedy.
In fact it would be nice to have most all the features/permissions that a standard forum has. Then a person could pick and choose what options they wish to have on the calendar.

No need to sound greedy; it's simply features you want added... Things will get added as they're worked on after v8 comes out; I know Rick was planning to touch on a lot of calendar stuff in coming releases (he mentioned something here before so I should be safe on that one lol).

I like the attachment function as well, my users are posting events and have scanned flyers, and being able to attach them like that would be nice... with the option to print them out.
