I am thinking about upgrading from 6.0 classic - I notice that thread has a "portal" feature - sort of reminds me of php nuke - Can this be done? I would prefer it to look like a portal rather than a forum - course they could click to the forum from the portal.

This site uses the portal interface - just click on the 'Portal Page' link above. It's up to you to choose the content of the sideboxes.

All of the information in the portal's layout is called from the template file; so you can change what data displays pretty easily just by hacking away at the portal coding.
