Is there a way to prevent this?
At this site.
HERE is a post that it happened today.

It just irritates me to no end.
I would prefer to just scroll down than to the right. Then back to the left. Then back to the right then scroll down. Then back to the right.
Repeat,repeat,repeat,ETC.

Its done with photos but also should be done with texts too in a single post not upsetting the entire page.

I just sat and read that entire page scrolling back and forth and it irritated me too.

I understand the image issue or quote tags. Some times it is a browser issue. But I don't understand why a plain text post causes this problem.

When a large string of characters is posted without a break or space in it then it will not wrap it on the screen.

Code
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Understood. The question is why, since we have settings in ubb for such. It only seems to be when pasted to the post.

Just tried this I guess not.

I've got a setting in for version 8 to limit the maximum length of a string and when it exceeds that amount it will wrap. Still need to benchmark it since on larger posts it's a bit of work to chug through the post looking at each word.

I thought you were going to go with a semi new method of controlling the difference between the different browsers.

Yes, but at times even FF seems to mess up a post here and there.

CSS will catch most of the issues, but we'll still be adding the max word length option for those that want to throw that in as well.

Well Rick I hope it works because I feel like a typewriter reading this post.
All I am missing is the ding from the bell.

What a bummer. There are fixes/tweaks but are numerous to attempt to fix most of the modern browsers. I've played with that some before and its a pain especially since some of it needs to be in specific sections when parsed and some of this data is done on the fly with UBB from data in the DB.
