ok so your url path is right but your full path may not be. When you ftp in, what path does it show
ex: mine is /home/yoursite.dir/public_html/ubbthreads/images/
some could be htdocs and not public_html.

some could be htdocs and not public_html. I just ftp'd in with a client instead of net2ftp through my web hosting server through the browswer it just says: /demongov.com/ubbthreads ?

Your using dreamhost? If so /home/username/domain.com/ (where "username" is your username and "domain.com" is your domain) taken from here http://blog.dreamhosters.com/kbase/index.cgi?area=346

Didn't work I'm going to have to try again tomorrow I feel so dizzy I'm about to faint I can't take this anymore I've been trying to fix this Avatars problem for about 4 hours goodnight

If you're working with mywebsite.com/avatars then make sure that the avatars directory that you created is above your ubbthreads directory and not inside of it.

Ok, I think there is a bit of confusion here. For Avatars, it asks for 2 things. Avatar Upload Storage Directory and Full URL to Avatar Upload Storage Directory. The Full URL should be: http://demongov.com/avatarsFor the Avatar Upload Storage Directory, you'll need the proper path. To find out what that is, go to your DB, Paths & URLs section of the Control Panel and then click on the Paths & URLs Tab. Look at the Absolute PATH to Main Directory Setting. Whatever that is set to, just change the ubbthreads at then end to avatars. So if it says: /path/to/your/site/ubbthreads Then your Avatar Upload Storage Directory is going to be: /path/to/your/site/avatars

What's the actual error message it's giving now? Testing 'http://demongov.com/avatars' Directory does not exist! Test failed. Either the directory was not found or cannot be written to by the web server.
