Ok, I'm trying to install UbbThreads Trial on a machine running MacOS X 10.2.3. I've installed PHP and MySQL following the links provided on the Infopop web's site. I've done all the steps listed on those links, and everything seems to work fine until I get to the famous step 2. What is the database server/name/user/password ? I know many of you will suggest me to contact my system administrator, but you know what, I'm the system administrator, and I don't know it. Ok, I've installed it on my own machine, and I don't work on an IT departement.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> Is there a way to find those information ? I'm not a specialist, but I begin to find my way into all this universe... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Thank you !

Your post is not quite clear. Are you saying you have your own server set up on your own machine/s, or that you are the administrator of your own site that is serviced by another company?

If the latter then you should call your website provider. If the first, would you not have set this info up when installing the server software?

But hey, this all comes from someone who has to ask the questions, usually, so others will come along too! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Ok, sorry for not being clear.

What I want to do is to test Ubb.threads on my own computer. It is not really a server, but since MacOS X can be used as a server (a small one, tought), I tought I could use it on my computer. That's because, right now, where my web site is hosted, I'm not allowed to use either PHP or MySQL. And before upgrading my web site, I want to test the software to see if it correspond to what I'm looking for.

Maybe I have to set those informations somewhere, but I don't know where or how.

When I say that I'm the system administrator, I just mean that no one else is administring my computer, so I cannot refer to someone else.

I hope it is a little bit more clear.
