Is this possible without deleting any old mood icons, in other words is the number of mood icons limited in any way?

I just tried to add one and got a blank screen with just the "return" link. No error message so just wondering if I need to start deleting old icons before adding new ones...

It's probably a permission issue, though it's supposed to state so. No limits. You can check the permissions on the directory or you can just FTP them in directly and you'll be all set.

Hi Rick, many thanks, this is definitely a server issue on my side:

Although the Folder shows the permissions as 755, the Owner/Group settings (I use FileZilla) show up as 0 and 0. For all other folders they are 32021 and 21023. What does this mean?

I cannot even upload the gif manually via FTP:

Status: Starting upload of /Users/CB/Desktop/mood icons/futbol.gif
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (208,92,165,50,68,229)
Command: STOR futbol.gif
Response: 553-Can't open that file: Permission denied
Response: 553 Rename/move failure: No such file or directory
Error: Critical error

What can I do to fix this?

Never seen a 0 for owner.
Might need to contract your host.
If the owner is not set correctly it means you don't own the file so you can't change it.

I have root access to the server, so what command can I use to change the access privileges to this folder?

You'll want to take a look at who owns the other directories, user and group. Once you know that you can execute this command to change:

chown moods owner.group

Replacing user and group with the actual owner and group that should own the directory.

You can change "moods" to whatever directory you need to actually change.
