UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums Resources and Customizing How Do I? Exclude a forum from "All Forums" search

We'd like to exclude one of our forums from the default "All Forums" search while still allowing users to select it individually on the Advanced Search page. Is this possible, and if so how do we do it?

Does the lack of replies mean this isn't doable? Or is it maybe possible but would be complicated and/or require non-supported modifications?

it's a modification to dosearch.inc.php and maybe the template (search.tpl) if you wanted to inform users that 'all' no longer means ALL..

would be a small modification but since it ain't stock, it would be something for for ubbdev-ites

Yeah, had occurred to me that would be necessary.
(Am weighing the possibility of user confusion if we implement the change vs the issues we have with the stock setup...decisions, decisions.)


Maybe you can clear up something for me. I used to think of "stock" as meaning "default installation" but I gather that's not correct since there are all sorts of ways we can customize a site that obviously aren't "modifications" in UBBT terms. Is there an easy way for me to tell which types of changes are supported and which aren't? Seems like it should be simple but for some reason I can't seem to get the difference firmly planted in my head.
