You can use this topic to discuss this announcement. Do not submit design concepts in this topic. Please use the Mycroburst website for all design entries.

Cool contest. It was interesting to view the logos currently submitted. Insignia001's draft #94 is awesome. The use of white space and creating the up arrow was great. It is simple and can be recreated using any color(s) without having to revise the graphic because of the simple shape.
There are some other decent designs but that is the only one that really worked for me. Not that I have any say whatsoever in this but I wanted to at least comment on the good work.

#94 would work for say an icon for the forum (a simple icon) but I don't see it as a full blown logo...

Logos have to be versatile so that they can be black and white and still be recognizable. Simple is better in logos because they have to be able to cross all spectrums. Nike being the most recognizable logo that doesn't contain the name. I thought that #94 was the only one that could really do that.
Which one(s) do you like?

The funny thing is, Nike is Greek for "Victory", I don't see how a company could copyright such a broadly used word lol...
Which do I like as a LOGO? Well, in my opinion there aren't many logos submitted, but I liked these as logos 179 153 128 99 65. SK and I both got ours eliminated lol (mine where 38-40, his where 29/30)
IMO, #84 that won looks like a U trapped in a condom wrapper...

I like the look of 179 and think that it is a really cool image. Some of the other images you pointed out look really nice in the concept of their image. My point would be how would it look once you made it the favicon for the site, and the forum icon as well as the homepage splash image?
I started to say that 153 is probably too similar to the current logo but 65 is of the same concept, granted I do like the image for 65 more.
What do you think of #84? I didn't even realize that the winner had been selected.

Yeah, we chose the winner on Sunday, just waiting for the final files. It was tough, we had about 5 of them that we were considering. Kept swapping them in and out of our template we have designed for the new website that will come with version 8. #84 ended up working the best.

Awesome. My congrats to Alisha.
And of course I have to ask, when can we get a look at the new design? If you want to keep it a secret can we get a glimpse of the the logo area as a tease?
