I have had several forum members(both mods and me, the Administrator) suddenly lose several stars in their member ratings, we were at 5 stars now they each have only 3. Is there any way to restore these ratings back to 5 stars. I don't know if I have a forum member that isn't familiar with the rating system and has mistakenly taken away stars by trying to add only one to the already 5 stars.

This is a bad karma issue with most people here.
I am sure you could do some database diving to change them back.
But someone could have been upset and posted a 1 for the people in question
But the real issue is I think the algorithm does not work well for this feature.
At least in the current version.
I personally don't pay much attention to the star's. Even though some of us have some fun with it.

I've searched thru the control panel and don't see anything that points to being able to change or restaore that, any ideas on exactly how to do it. Thanks....

There is nothing in the stock code to change a star rating for a member.
IMO there should not be,
But like I said there are issues with how the rating is calculated.

My opinion is if we keep this feature then when a user submits a rating they are required to select something like a reason check list or comment.
Then the end user has the ability to see the reason for the change but not the user that submitted the change. Just to keep anonymity.
For the faint of heart.

I have always left that feature turned off because of issues like this.

Its been determined that a rogue member from another forum signed up and purposely did this in retaliation for what he thought was a stab back at certain members that are also members of that other forum.

Another reason to drop them. I'm not into popularity contests, anyway.
