Harold and I are on the same wave-length. As I looked through the list--lots of promising ones to choose from--"My Stuff" hit the right chord with me.

'eh, I guess I can deal with "My Stuff", but it doesn't have that professional ring to it...

We're a little more relaxed on my site. Every day is Casual Friday. On the weekends it gets even more fun.

I can only immagine... lol... I may join you in that case ...

It would be neat to have the option to name it whatever we want. In addition to the names Gizzy selected, I was also partial to My Config. My favorite is My Zone. I'd also rename "Edit Preferences" and "Edit Profile" to "My Preferences" and "My Profile" to keep the theme.

You mean the admin changing it for the whole site? Or give each user their own choice?

These are easily edited in the admin control panel. All you have to do is edit the generic.php in languages.

Well, it'd be a wordlet, so admins could change it to fit their site...

Am I the only one who doesn't like the word "My" being used? It's too microsoft for my liking where "My" gets used everywhere (My Documents, My Photos, My Videos, etc) and fast becomes redundant.

I'd prefer something simple like Home.

While we're on the subject of renaming, I'd like to see the word "topic" renamed to "threads" globally.

This is ubb.threads and not ubb.topics, isn't it?

Why not call it 'My area for altering my own settings so that I can view this forum as I wish to - and to keep tabs with new and existing messages from other users'

I like it "My something" because its where users update their settings...

I like My Dashboard, but Ted posted they're going with "Personal Zone." I bet they'll do this across the board with all the products including Threads.

humm, "My Dashboard" does have a nice ring to it... I personally don't like "Personal Zone", but I guess its better than "My Space/Stuff"...

Is there a way to change this? and how??

All text is changeable from the Control Panel -> Language Editor. If you aren't sure which language file holds the string you are looking for just use the search to find it. In this case, it's in the generic.php language file.
