When I view my gallery thumbs I see three columns displaying as follows...

A B C
D E F
G H I

However, when I view my gallery 'island', they are displayed as follows...

A
B
H
I
C

Any thoughts on why this should happen?

Missed this apparently. I believe the gallery island goes by the actual posting of the gallery image, while when viewing the gallery forum it will sort by those with the most recent comments first. Will need to look to verify.

It is because your sort order is different.
In the island it is coded to sort by
"ORDER BY TOPIC_CREATED_TIME DESC"
And it ignores reply post dates.

In the gallery it is sorted by your preference including reply timestamps.
If you sort your gallery by Thread Start Time it should match.

E FP = 22/04/09 - LP = 16/12/09
F FP = 11/06/09 - LP = 16/12/09

G FP = 16/11/08 - LP = 16/12/09
H FP = 30/11/09 - LP = 30/11/09
I FP = 26/11/09 - LP = 27/11/09


Gallery Island
A FP = 23/05/10 - LP = 01/06/10
B FP = 23/05/10 - LP = 25/05/10
H FP = 30/11/09 - LP = 30/11/09
I FP = 26/11/09 - LP = 27/11/09
C FP = 11/11/09 - LP = 14/05/10

So it apears that the forum images are sorted by last post, wheras the gallery images are sorted by original post date.

That makes sense now.
