I have an odd problem.

One of my users gets email messages like "lost your password" and so on. However, they do NOT get watch list alerts. I have verified that her watch list is set up properly and that items are showing up on her watch list. I've verified that she has the check box checked to have those items mailed to her.

She tried three different email accounts. On none of them does she get the watch list messages. On all of them she can get the "email is changing" verify messages and so on.

What kind of setting could be set, which would prevent her from getting the watch list messages but get other things?

We tested with PMs too by the way. She can get PM alerts. Just not the watch list alerts.

Aha!!!

OK that only took 3 plus hours of agony.

We had set her to watch the Blogs forum.

Then we checked the preference to email alerts.

It didn't work even though we then changed her email address three times.

so then we tried having her add in another forum to her watch list. Poof - that one worked! And so did a third forum!

So then we UNwatched the first forum and REwatched it. Poof it now worked!!

So apparently this area is **order dependent** which never in a million years would have occurred to me. Is this a bug?
