Hi, all. I thought I'd post some pictures of the map add-on that I did for my forum.

We are a group of teardrop owners (ultra-miniature RVs) and for a few years I maintained a google map with a pin for each user. It's tough to keep something like this current, but it was a big hit with my users.

So, I did the following mod that integrates a profile driven map into my forum.

Registered users can view the map.
Pins are colored according to RV type.
All data is live (directly from user profiles) and clicking on a user name takes you to their profile page.


Each user that chooses to have their location shown on the map also has a mini-map in their profile.


Profile edit screen allows users to enable/disable their pin, and edit the custom fields that contribute data to their pin.
(Also, users are able to select a special "On the Road" pin to let everyone know when they are out touring the country.)

Much better than the past Google solutions which required constant updates of the data.

Looks like it came quite a ways since we last talked, looks pretty great!

If you're interested in posting it somewhere UBBDev has, in the past, been a great resource for modifications and addons.

Did you try to read an actual post/reply in a thread? Or, did you just go to the site via a link and it loaded? I can browse forums and even threads, but clicking on any post/reply results in the infamous generic database error:

We encountered a problem. The reason reported was
Database error only visible to forum administrators

This occurred for every post link I tried... and I tried about a dozen in various forums.

Hopefully, the new "owner" of ubbdev won't follow the isolated silence of the owner of UBBThreads.
