Apparently, last night or sometime today our webmaster did something which caused our entire forum to go down. He was able to restore a backup, and the database seems unaffected, but a couple things are still having issues.
Most importantly - The forums do not show up in the control panel anymore. If I go in to the CP and click on "Forum Settings", it just says "You do not have any forums". The forums are there and working, but the control panel seems to think otherwise. The Categories do show up in the CP - just not the forums.
Anyone have any clue on how I can fix this without re-installing the software??
Thank you, B

Well when I go to the "Forum Permissions" in the CP, the only forum option I have is "New Forum Template". I don't know that that's the information you are asking about, though. Is there a Forum Permission Checker tool?

I also just found out that none of the forums show up in the Advances Search either. I don't have a clue where to go from here.

Looks like somebody needs to check the database tables. Starting with the table named "Forums"
Blue Man Group There is no such thing as stupid questions. Just stupid answers

That's what our webmaster said he wants to do. I initiated the project, set up and converted the forums, but I, unfortunately, don't have access to view the database myself. He's supposed to be getting another folder ready, as well as another DB. He wants me to set up and convert our old forum again into that folder so he can view and compare the databases.
