Been too many years as this has happened in older versions so cannot recall what the fix was but
I just updated from V 7.5.6p2 to 7.5.8 and now all the counters for posts viewed have ceased to increase at all I posted a thread 24 hours ago and know at least 20 others have read it but the view counter is still at zero
Server Type Linux Web Server Apache PHP Version 5.5.19 MySQL Version 5.6.17-log
Fix/workaround ?
Thanks

So this is what I paid $60 to renew for support and 7 days after I ask about this issue ZERO response ?
The view counters not updating on view /reads only ceased to work after this update was done so someone who owns this code so have a fix or work around ? as older version had some problem and a fix was done that is clear wiped out when this last update was done
Thanks for someone to respond to this problem . .

UBBCentral forums are only USER-TO-USER forums. There are never (or at least very few) public support posts by the actual software owners/developers posted this forum, although (when noticed) the owner does delete unfavorable posts -- such as this post you're now reading. The last time the UBBThreads owner posted publicly, it was on November 29, 2013. The last time an official UBBThreads programmer posted, was a couple times in July 2014 and then again in September 2014 -- for testing a user-submitted fix to bug that has existed for many versions of UBBThreads. That user-suggested bug-fix was implemented on this website, fixing the long-standing bug, but it still has not been officially released as part of official UBBThreads code. The last official UBBThreads code released was 7.5.8, on November 29,2013. The owner of UBBThreads logs in to this forum every few months. He was online a few times in December 2014 (to delete unfavorable comments regarding software support) and again on January 2nd, 2015. It's now January 7th, 2015. The UBBThreads (Brooks R Weisblat/UBBSystems) owner's UBBCentral.com account is - https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/users/10804/ubbsystemsor direct contact information within the UBB Wiki is - http://www.ubbwiki.com/wiki/view/66/ubb-systems.htmlIf you need the support you paid for, visit the "Support" link at the top of the page and file a Ticket. https://www.ubbcentral.com/tickets/members.php?t=n

Thanks for responding
I'll go to that URL and open a support ticket and see if they respond to fix this bug.

Views if i remember is triggered by a user posing on the forums. So just refreshing the page you will not see it increase to the actual count until a new post happens.
Again check your database for any errors.

Mark can this be what you mention Via Cpanel and MySQL function : [teamzr5_zc3.ubbt_TOPIC_VIEWS] note: The storage engine for the table doesn't support checkAlso [teamzr5_zc3.ubbt_ONLINE] note: The storage engine for the table doesn't support repairBTW using PHP Version 5.5.20 All others show OK I told it to repair but comes back with same two issues If so How to fix ? Not due to refresh As example I wrote a post 5 days ago Via who's online showed others having read that post yet the views counter is still at zero Thanks

[teamzr5_zc3.ubbt_ONLINE] That one is ok as i think the results are in memory and not a table.
I'm not an sql expert or know how it all works in cpanel.
I use php admin to access any database issues.
[teamzr5_zc3.ubbt_TOPIC_VIEWS] note: The storage engine for the table doesn't support check
This one is interesting . . . . . But i'm not sure if that's because your not using php admin to access your database and cpanel can only do so much ? But it does look like there could be an issue with the Topic_Views which is in need of a repair.
Php admin normally can fix all problems.
You could aproach this another way. Look iin the control panel and disable topic views. And then re activate them. That may be a jump start it needs ??
If not you need to have someone with more knowledge than me about the database guide you.

If it were me. I would first check permissions check in the ubb control panel. Then run the clear cache option.
Then possibly run some of the rebuilders?????

I'd, personally, clear the data from the /cache and /templates/compile directories (with the exception of the index.html files) then re-run the clear cache script from the CP (note that you'll want to have the CP loaded before purging the compile directory as you'll have a b0rked forum until the cache is rebuilt).

Thanks for replies, I did open a ticket week ago and zero support :-(
I did use all admin functions as to rebuilding, clearing cache, etc and did not solve the problem
Gizmo, sorry I do nor follow all you suggest
Other then the functions via Admin webpage in rebuilds and clear cache, do you mean I manually go to the templates/compile directories and delete what you stated ?
Thanks

Yup, FTP in, purge the data in the directories, all but the index.html files.

I did that and then did all the rebuilds and clear cache via CP and no change
Clue maybe that view counters will not increase on reads alone ever until a new post is written then counters update

Correct, a view is stored in the views table and does not increase until a post is made; otherwise you'd have a lot of db traffic and a very unhappy webhost.
