Hi guys Upgraded to 7.5.9 but now, when posting in the Shout Box, it shrinks when clicking on Shout, it immediately expands again back to the proper / usual size to display the new message. It's a split second but it is annoying. I can not replicate this on UBB Central. Any ideas what may be causing this? Users are reporting this in Chrome, Firefox and IE so far. Thank you for your time

Just a guess. You did not say what version you upgraded from nor if it is a stock or custom style but. I would suspect some css class was not updated. This due to older versions did not have many css classes in the style that are now present. What you could do is edit the style and newer css settings will have a copy link to update.

He's on 7.5.9, he was on 7.5.5, I did the upgrade; most everything is stock. We've been troubleshooting things for like 3 days now, trying random fixes; I told him to post here in hopes that if anyone else was experiencing the same behavior could chime in. We put a patch in place last night, but I'm still waiting to hear from him if it worked (as FireFox v42 and v43 do not display the behavior reported, and I don't have anything "not current" to test it on.
But, basically, everything is stock, all the CSS is in place, all of the templates are current and all caches have been cleared, it's not the CDN since it was disabled and tested and the behavior stuck.
The last test was hardcoding widths into the templates, which I'm still waiting to hear back about.

well giz do you see the issue? possibly it is a slow connection from the browser???? either the host or client. Where they just see the transition of the screen update. I understand that he reports other users see the same issue.
I did not know you were already involved.

I don't see the problem myself in any relatively new version of Firefox; hence why I'm waiting to see if it's fixed. I have however seen a video of what's happening.
Isaac and I believe it has to do with how larger resolutions force the html to redraw the screen.

When I added the 300 wide banner ad to the right column, it made the shout box wider and it no longer happened. However, that's on my laptop ... now that I'm back in my office on a 27" screen, the issue is happening again as the right column is not as wide. I just tried it on my iPad where it looks narrower and no problem, so width is causing it, it would seem.

I would suspect that it is the size header you added. 300px is very wide for a side island. Is it a island or a header banner in the html includes using tables? Also you probably have different os and video drivers for a 27" screen, ipad, etc. You need to pick one resolution and stick with it.
When and if we get the mobile theme it will probably work out for you.
