Hi

I have restricted our members use of submitting attachment files and photos for a long tim. reason was
lack of space and to control so it didn't grow to much
Also if images was to large they altered the forum so it was hard to read the posts. One image could destroy a whole thread so to speak.
Now with faster broadband connections its not that important with megabytes

What happen if someone link an image from another site that is large?
I guess that attachments now will be downsized... Please let me know.

I checked my settings and below is what I found out.
PLEASE comment and suggest if you think I should re-think and re-set my settings. The 801 pixels settings has been valuable but is it a difference nowadays? should I increase it.

Coding in the common.css file should force images to have a max-width of the page size.

Settings from UBBDev's image settings:
Graphics Library: ImageMagick

Dimensions:
Thumb 125, Medium 480 Full 1920

Quality:
Thumb 80, Medium 70, Full 60

Your attached and linked images should resize to be no larger than the width of your post.

Have a skim through this post -- which was used for testing exactly what you're asking smile

e: if you dont have an account on UBBDEV.com, you'll only be shown the linked images, not the attached ones. But that should be just fine for the exact question you're asking.

I tested it here, seems to work better these days than before when an image could spoil the layout of a topic. smile
