There is a discrepancy between the database time and the forum time...is this a bug? I am running into this issue creating polls with start and end times...anyone have an answer or how to fix?

In v7.6.0 we store timestamps in the database as +0/GMT. As a guest user cannot configure their own timezone in their preferences like a user can, there is a setting for their "default timezone" in the control panel.

Previously there was a hardcoded time as whatever the forum default time was, and users could set an offset based on that, now they just select their timezone.

Thanks for your reply but I don't understand what you are saying?

When I created a poll to start at 12:01 am in the poll after saving the poll it shows a start time of 8:01 which is 4 hours earlier than the start time I set...where in thge control panel do I change the settings in my initial post?

New York time is: UTC -4 hours.
The forum stores all data in UTC time.
If you have set your "Guest Time" up to be -4 hours, all times will display as "UTC TIME -4 HOURS" to guests.

In older versions of UBB.threads (7.5.x and older), the time was based on OFFSETS. This meant that each user needed to manually update their forum time offset twice each year. The current version of UBB.threads (7.6.x +) uses Time Zones.

If you want it to "zero out," within the forum Control Panel, set the Guest Timezone to "UTC+00:00." This will give you absolute ZERO time adjustments for guest users.

If you want to change the display just for your own account, you can update your own account settings in the Display Preferences page, under "Your Timezone." This will only affect your account, since this is your account's Display Settings.

EDIT: Remember though, all times are stored within the database as UTC+00:00.
