When viewing the UBB Forum here (7.6.1) using Explorer 11 the user Avatars are wildly different sizes. (I saw one that was 900 x 900), but they seem to be limited to a Maximum size using Chrome.

IE11 is End of Life and isn't even supported by its manufacturer (hence Microsoft Edge's creation); as such it does not follow current web standards, which UBB.threads does.

The "fix" would be to utilize a modern web browser.

I guess I can avoid that issue in my own Forum by not allowing Remote Avatars, is that right?

Remote avatars have nothing to do with it, it's the browser not capable of using the associated CSS coding. It'd likely do the same for inlined images, gallery images, etc.

IE11 isn't going to make some sort comeback, it'll remain dated, and will continue to have more and more issues with modern websites as standards develop and progress.

If people have to upload Avatars I can specify Maximum size.

I don't think Explorer will be making a comeback. I'm just looking to keep things looking the best I can for the most people as long as possible.

ECNet, I've added a bit of code to contain the images in IE11. Give a try to view that page on ubbcentral, and tell me if its working out for you as expected.

Thanks!

Isaac,

Avatars are consistent size now w/ Explorer 11.

With User info on side it looks good.

But, with User info on top the Avatars stay the same size (150 x 150) and cover some of the user and post info.

In my forum I got mine to resize to 60 x 60 by an edit in styles/common.css, so it looks the same now in Explorer, Chrome and FF

Bill

Thanks for the update, Bill.

I'm working in patch to get this issue fixed, and released to everyone.

After 7.6.1.1 patch here (at UBB) with User info on Top the Avatars are still different sizes

On My Forum I modified .my-avatar (in styles/common.css) to the following and it seemed to solve that issue in Explorer 11

Code
.my-avatar{border-right:6px solid transparent;height:60px;width:60px;}
