Hi
I have had an issue for years with severa UBBT versions and with Iphones (have not tested with another phone).

When I use a iphone and am looking direct in a topic the footer is only about a third whidt and everything is at the left side.
When I am on a forum start page or a forum displaying all topics it looks right and it fills the footer to 100%

I have no local footers in ea forums only use the general>> html >> footer
the html table in the footer is set to 100% widht

example pages

http://www.britbike.com/forums/ubbt.../big-head-fury-and-bullet-stuff-for-sale

Please note its not an issue with a computer web browser

any ideas?

The issue on your website is due to your advertisements being too wide for mobile devices, and they are destroying the device's viewport window.

UBB.threads 7.6+ was written to allow a minimum of 320px viewport.
Your header advertisements are 512px wide.
When I test using an iPhone XR, your page pushes the screen out past the iPhone XR's 414px viewport width.

Viewport Sizes
iPhone
414 x 896 --- iPhone XR
375 x 812 --- iPhone XS
414 x 896 --- iPhone XS Max
375 x 812 --- iPhone X

375 x 667 --- iPhone 8

Hmm it does not sense to me just yet.

first facts.. in the header I use one table for banners the three in row are 240px wide each
the leaderboard size banner is 728x90px.

footer use leaderboard size banner is 728x90px.
the ebay box is 300px wide

I tested to remove the ebay and it does not make any different.

What disturbe be is that this is only when I open a topic not when I open a forum and see the topics or the forum start page.

Does this ring any bell?

Isaac I fixed it my self, the individual forums uses a custom island insert and I used a leaderboard size banner 728x90 in there
it screwed up the layout at the footer

does that makes sense to you..
sorry for bothering you with this

@Isaac,

I am reading online
can you please explain the difference between Pixel Size & Viewport when building UBB to work for phones.

It says for iPhone 5= Pixel Size 640 x 1136 Viewport 320 x 568
for the upright view can I use 640px banner and make it work or do I need to reduce images or tables to 320px?
I'm looking for a way to use banners so it does not screw up the layout.

thanks for your input smile

Click the link in my earlier post/reply to you above
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/262102/re-footer-issue#Post262102

Especially where is says:

There is also a link on that same page, in the second paragraph;
"Viewports are scaled down versions of resolutions that allows sites to be viewed more consistently across different devices."
https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_rwd_viewport.asp

Some devices use 1:1 scaling for their viewports, some use 1:2 scaling.

v v v MORE SPECIFIC TO YOUR NEEDS IS HERE v v v wink

But the simplest thing to work with is designing for responsive layout, rather than adaptive layout.
http://mediumwell.com/responsive-adaptive-mobile/

You can semi accomplish that by using for your wide images:
HTML
<img src="/images/toplogo.jpg" style="max-width:100%; height:auto;">
source: https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/u.../re-image-resizing-for-mobile#Post259144

Or using display:inline-block for wrapping your div containers, as described and exampled here:
http://learnlayout.com/inline-block.html

I dont plan to go further in to detail about that in a future reply, as this topic has been talked about to death all over Google / Bing ...search.

edit:
i know you're trying to work this all out, and its not being easy. but you're doing fine if you keep reading and trying different things. this topic has been heavily documented because a lot of people have difficulties figuring it out. the magical part is when they do get it, they get it and everything becomes, "Wow. Thats kinda cool! I get that now, and can use it in other places that i didnt think about before smile "
