Hi

In the past I have had problems with standard emails from the forum being treated as spam.
I have taken action and had it resolved however now it has started again..
I learned that one shall not do several things when sending emails and one example is not to use capital letters except when needed. Otherwise it may be treated as SPAM

Example is the email header/topic when someone request a new password the email says

Request For Password at Britbike forum

My suggestion is that all outgoing emails use the topic

Request for password at Britbike forum

Only use capital letter in the first word "Request"

If I knew where to change this I would do it right away but it would probably go back when I do next upgrade that if it was not fixed in next version.

Control Panel > Languages > Search / Edit Language Strings

Search String: Request For Password

* PREQ_SUBJECT is when the user requests their password from the "Forgot login name or password?" at Login page.

* PSND_SUBJECT is when an admin sends the password to the member account from the control panel > member editor.

@Isaac I did not see your first post as I had not updated the page while typing my next post.
That was a very good search example. I have edited the whole mailer.php not to use capital letters to much

If you're on UBB.threads 7.7.x, you should look at setting up a DKIM in the "Advanced Mail Configuration" section of UBB.threads (Control Panel > Primary Settings > Advanced Mail Configuration). Then you wont have to jump through hoops that have been put on your specific domain by some email providers which receive email from your website domain.

This was all mentioned in your last post on emails being rejected from your domain -
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/u...rum-emails-are-being-rejected#Post262116

You really should read through the links previously posted for you in that thread.
Here are some additional links for further reading. It may seem a bit complex at first, but by sharing additional links, I hope that you'll find one site that is able to explain it in a way that helps make sense of it all -- easily. Plus, I hope other readers to this thread may appreciate the additional resources.

@Isaac back then I was not on 7.7.x and therefore I missed your message regarding DKIM
I looked at it now in CP and don't understand what to fill in but I will ask my host.
I'm sure they did something regarding DKIM and SPF sometime ago

Isaac in the WHM i noticed
A “DKIM” record does not exist for this domain.

This system does not control DNS for the “vps.britbike.com” domain. Contact the person responsible for the “fay.ns.cloudflare.com” and “clint.ns.cloudflare.com” nameservers and request that they update the “DKIM” record with the following:

I asked my host to do this and he came back saying
SPF needed to updated. I guess at Cloudflare took over this.. Its all jidderish to me.. wink

For your host to do something to your DKIM certs, they would have had to edit your forum phpmailer script, or with UBB.threads 7.7.0 (and newer), log in to your forum Control Panel and edit the settings. Does that sound like something your host would do?

I just had your forum send me an email.
DKIM failed validation.

After your suggestion we have searched and tested a few days. It turned out that we hade to make changes at cloudflare and swap to smtp. I think it works now
Thanks
