Hi,

I am thinking for creating a "How-To Guides and Technical Articles" section at BritBike forum.
Not sure how to set it up but a general page for all How-To Guides and Technical Articles links and then a page for each article. These should not be open for replies and discussions only me as admin or a dedicated person would be able to admin these pages. Do you have any recommendations how to set it up? I'm thinking maybe a

- forum category >>> How-To Guides and Technical Articles.. >>> forum page with a displayed topic/link for each topic.

Maybe open up for HTML by admin only to use on each forum page with articles. is that possible?

Well this is my first attempt to think about it and I would appreciate very my much for any inputs how you have done it or how it could be done.

A category is fine.
What you may want for the forum is select custom inserts.
Turn on forum introduction.
Enter links to the articles in Forum Introduction Body

Then you could just copy the entry to a custom island to be redundant when viewing other forums.

Just a thought.

The hml part everyone will warn you not to but you could create a group for html use. Then assign that group html permission to the forum you want.. Then add your selected members to that group.

Ruben,

I created a new forum, named it for now.. How to guides - Technical articles
I did Turn on forum introduction.
Enter links to the articles in Forum Introduction Body

put three links in there using html
one link to a page within britbike domain but outside the forum
one link to an external page
one link to a thread I created within this forum

see
http://www.britbike.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/38/1/how-to-guides-technical-articles

for now only admin can create new threads or reply, users can read threads but not guests they can only see the forum.

Now I need to think how to go from here

it is all up to you how you want to do it.
As I said before you could also create a custom island with the html links but it may get very long all depends on who will read them and how many you get. the island and or forum could be a teaser for guests also.
