Also it does get boring just staring at the screen but it will show errors during the import.
Unfortunately there is not a log to go back and check what happened.

do note, the ubb.threads board was not looked at while the importer was running...at all. the only thing I had loaded in chrome was the actual importer script and phpmyadmin to check on the progress of the importer from the database side of things.

I'm home now and quickly checking over this, it looks like none of the permissions were carried over from the ubb.classic site as Ruben mentioned a few posts back..everything is blank. is there a query I can run to quickly try to remedy this?

Best thing to do is manual.
Once you complete one forum you can copy it to other forums that you want
goto cp -permissions forum.
Don't bother with the template is was kinda broken for a long time including I think the version you are using.
Somewhere it was supposed to be fixed.
I assume the UBB7.7 versions without researching.

At Currently Editing Permissions For
select the first valid forum not template then select switch
Then review and change each permission.
It will take a while

Once you select update.
goto the right top tab Mass permissions.

Select the forum you just edited.
Then select every forum you want. with same permissions.
Then select proceed.

In fact it may be easier to copy to all forums and go back and edit forums that are different.

Then you need to review permissions site and cp.
But this is your first run so I would just worry about just yourself for now.(admin)
You really can't save the edits so when you import again all your permission edits may be lost again.

I was trying to remember about the missing permissions it could be due to during the install of ubbthreads there is a option to skip adding a admin. That you overlooked
It reads like
Quote
If are upgrading from UBB.classic or UBB.threads 6.5.x or you don't want to create your admin user now, you may proceed to create table .
But it does not import permissions from classic it just sets some defaults as I recall.

I clicked on 'create threads' when it asks you to create an admin user just as the ubb classic importer instructs. once the importer was completed successfully, all of the forum permissions were blank.

I have never had success with importing polls from classic.
Even with the original importer.
The importer just skips it..
I just gave up and accepted it.
Coding is there for it and maybe the correct combination of classic and ubbthreads versions may work.
But I have tried many different versions.
With no success.
I remember the topic and replies imports but the actual poll and results do not import.

Besides that.
If you have been using threads after a classic import.
There is no way to append another import from classic.
You would need to run it again from the original classic files and loose any new posts on threads.
